Our Guardian Home Program

At Pixie Doodle Paws, the health, happiness, and quality of life of our dogs remain our highest priority. To provide each dog with the individual attention, love, and care they deserve, we intentionally maintain a limited number of dogs within our home. At the same time, upholding the excellence of our program requires the thoughtful addition of exceptional new bloodlines.

Our Guardian Home Program offers a balanced and compassionate solution. Through this program, our breeding dogs are placed in carefully selected family homes where they are raised not in kennels, but as deeply loved members of the household.

Program Requirements

To be considered, applicants must reside within 90 minutes of Palmdale, California, and be available for scheduled drop-offs and pick-ups related to health testing, veterinary care, breeding, and whelping.

How the Program Works

Families accepted into the program are given the unique opportunity to welcome a top-quality, pick-of-the-litter puppy into their home at no upfront cost. In exchange, Pixie Doodle Paws retains breeding rights for the duration of the agreement. Female dogs typically participate from maturity through up to four litters, while male dogs may remain in the program longer and are bred selectively as needed.

All breeding-related expenses are covered by Pixie Doodle Paws. Guardian families are responsible for routine care, including providing a high-quality diet, grooming, regular veterinary maintenance, training, and daily companionship.

Once a dog has completed health testing, breeding timelines and pairings are carefully planned. Female dogs remain with their families for the majority of their pregnancy before returning shortly prior to delivery. After their puppies are weaned, they return home to their families. Upon completion of their breeding career, Pixie Doodle Paws covers the cost of spaying or neutering and transfers full ownership to the Guardian family.

Guardian Responsibilities

Families with female dogs must monitor heat cycles, prevent unplanned breeding, and be comfortable with temporary separations during breeding periods. Guardians of male dogs must ensure proper supervision and allow breeding only as approved by Pixie Doodle Paws.
